Raymedy Readme and Powerme
Mauk den Boer from Raymedy has discovered that you can measure your health in a relatively simple way. The measurements can be used to easily treat many health issues with meridian therapy, which brings health back into balance.*)
StudioMOM received a request from Mauk to design 2 appliances for diagnosis and treatment: the Readme and the Powerme. One important aspect of designing the appliances was the need for the products to be understandable and accessible. At the same time, they needed to look professional.
The Readme and the Powerme can be connected to an ordinary PC. Users can measure themselves at home with the Readme. A diagnosis is then generated. By following simple instructions, users can then treat themselves with the Powerme (light, magnet and microcurrent). Everything is monitored remotely by a registered therapist. If necessary, the therapist can continue or supervise the treatment.
In order for us to have a good understanding we underwent a treatment and treated one another. This was followed by a sketching phase where we chose the appropriate design language. Using the initial designs, we created a large number of 3D prints in order to be able to determine the most natural ergonomic form that would enable the relevant action to be executed.
In partnership with the electronic hardware and software designer we developed the ideas into a feasible product.
Mauk den Boer **) has been involved in finding a new method of diagnosing and treating patients for 20 years. As the son of a dispensing GP, he was intrigued by the quantities of toxic substances that were designed to make patients ‘better’ and stored by his father in large cabinets. His fascination led him to study ecology and toxicology at Wageningen and Seattle. A common thread in his work involves the study of methods for biophysical therapies, which ultimately led to in the creation of Raymedy. The idea behind Raymedy is to activate the physical body’s self-healing capacity using diagnosis and treatment with meridian therapy. ***)
